Last week, our researcher Xavier Granados was invited by SAFRAN, French multinational aircraft engine, rocket engine, aerospace-component and defense company , as a world expert and leader of superconducting machines to discuss for the future Aircraft applications.
The kick-off meeting of FusionCAT project took place last 29th of January at UPC Rectorat organized by Barcelona SuperComputing (BSC).
Our group, leadered by Xavier Granados and Joffre Gutierrez, has participated in the meeting together with the other partners of the project.
The 23th-24th January, Prof. Xavier Obradors, Dr. Xavier Granados, Dr. Cornelia Pop and our PhD student Pedro Barusco, jointly with our project manager, Mar Tristany, went to Milan to participate in the 7th project meeting of FASTGRID project at RSE-Milan.

The “Anual Meeting of Physic PhD students” (Trobada Anual de Doctorands en Física, TADeF2019) will take place the 20th and 21st of November in the Faculty of Science of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. The main objective of this meeting is to provide a big picture of all the research in Physics at the PhD level that is done in the UAB and surrounding institutes. With this aim, the meeting will consist mainly of short talks (10’+3′) from PhD researchers and three keynote talks from international invited speakers of general interest, as well as a poster session.
On Tuesday, 3 December 2019, the ICMAB organizes an event to talk and share experirences on ERC projects called “European Research Council (ERC) funding opportunities – a 360° overview”. The event will count with the presence of Nadine Vermorel, from the ERC Executive Agency (ERCEA) and with Lucía Benito, from the CSIC European Program. Five of the ICMAB ERC grantees will talk about their ERC experience from their own point of view. Dr. Silvia Rasi, former PhD researcher under the supervision of Prof. Jordi Farjas and Prof. Teresa Puig defended her PhD thesis entitled Advanced thermal analysis of ReBCO superconductor precursor films and functional oxides publicly on 12 November 2019 at the Superior Politechnic School Auditorium of University of Girona.
