Superconducting Materials and Large Scale Nanostructures
SUMAN department has been active in the field of superconducting materials since the discovery of High Temperature superconductors, more than 20 years ago, it has widely contributed to the field of vortex pinning analysis and materials development for more than 15 years and more recently, since about ten years, it has shifted its interests towards the chemical solution approaches to superconducting thin films and coated conductors, due to its high potential in terms of cost-effectiveness for practical applications.
The PhD researcher Pedro Barusco, from the Superconducting Materials and Large Scale Nanostructures (SUMAN) Group at ICMAB-CSIC, will defend his PhD thesis on Friday 11 February 2022 at 11:30 am in a hybrid session.
One more year, our group have been very active participating at the 34th International Symposium on Superconductivity (ISS2021), web-based online event from November 30 to December 2, disseminating the research work done at our group.
StoRIES, the Storage Reseach Infrastructure Ecoy-System, a new European project network where ICMAB participation is lead by Dr. Xavier Granados from SUMAN group, officially kicked off last 25 November 2021 in Ulm, Germany.
Many events have been possible to see between 22-24 September across Catalunya! On 24th September our PhD students, Adrià and Aiswarya, from our research group have performed the quantum levitation exhibition with superconductors at CosmoCaixa Barcelona.
