Dr. Pengmei Yu , former PhD student under the supervision of our researcher Mariona Coll defended her PhD thesis entitled “Atomic layer deposition: From molecular chemistry to functional oxide coatings” publicly on 24th November 2020 at ICMAB-CSIC meeting room by videoconference.
The Applied Superconductivity Conference 2020 conference awarded Artur Romanov, PhD researcher at our group, on 5 November 2020, the third prize in the materials section of the Student Paper Contest and additonally the Alexander Shikov memorial award for design and manufacturing of “LTS and HTS Conductors”.

The XRE4S (R+D+I Energy for Society Network) launched the first call for the Lab-to-Market (L2M) program, the technology scouting program for the members of the network. It consists on the pre-screening on technology assessment, market opportunity and analysis of the intellectual property status and strategy.
A new publication in Scientific Reports by researchers of the Superconducting Materials and Large Scale Nanostructures (SUMAN) group at the ICMAB-CSIC, the ALBA Synchrotron, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and CERN, has studied the surface resistance and vortex properties of seven superconducting coated conductors at microwave frequencies, high magnetic fields and low temperatures (mimicking the expected conditions of the Future Circular Collider at CERN) to study how they respond.
