SUMAN researchers at bienal RSEF19 and poster prize for Jordi Alcalá

The XXXVII Bienal de Física of the Spanish Royal Society of Physics has been hold during this week (15-19 July 2019) in Zaragoza at Campus San Francisco from Zaragoza University and some of  our researchers have participated. Teresa Puig was part of the Scientific Committee and she has chaired a round table entitled “Opportunities in Superconductivity. A view from Spain” with the participation of María José Calderón, Lourdes Fábregas, Laura Greene, Xavier Obradors and Hermann Suderow.       Teresa Puig has also introduced the plenary speaker, Laura Greene.   On Monday 15th, Joffre Gutiérrez presented an oral contribution entitled “Coated Conductor technology for the beam screen of high energy circular colliders” and on Tuesday 16th, Jaume Gázquez contributed with an oral entitled “A combined microscopy and first-principles approach for understanding the defect landscape of YBa2Cu3O7-x at the single-atom level”. Regarding our PhD students, Juri Banchewski, has presented an oral contribution entitled “Ultrafast transient liquid assisted growth of high current density superconducting films” and Alejandro Fernández presented a poster introduced with a flash-talk entitled “Tuning the electronic structure of High Temperature Superconducting films by field induced oxygen diffusion”. And finally but not least, our PhD student, Jordi Alcalá, has contributed with a poster entitled “Nano-engineered YBCO Superconducting tapes for Fusion Applications” and he has won the 1st price.       Very nice congress, our researcher have enjoyed it. Congratulations to the organizers!
