PhD position related to “HTS Materials and measures empowering energy efficiency” (MSCA doctoral network)
We are offering a predoctoral position at ICMAB within the PHYNEST doctoral programme. The candidate will join the Superconducting Materials Group to work on “Overdoping HTS films: the route to get closer to the maximum departing current” or “Irradiation effects on High Temperature Superconducting films” research projects.
Apply from January 1st to February 28th 2026
On January 1st 2026 the applications for the PHYNEST Doctoral Program will be open.
PHYNEST is a Horizon Europe MSCA COFUND programme coordinated by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. It is designed to nurture the next generation of scientific leaders in physics and materials science who are committed to finding sustainable energy solutions for a greener future.
The project offers 25 PhD positions in advanced materials, energy technologies, and climate solutions under five major thematic areas:
• Materials and measures empowering energy efficiency.
• Theory and modelling of energy-efficient devices.
• Historical and societal evolution of energy and sustainability.
• Advanced sensing and actuation for improving sustainability.
• Climate change and carbon monitoring.
Our research group is participating with two offers:
PI06- Irradiation effects on High Temperature Superconducting films
PI07-Overdoping HTS films: the route to get closer to the maximum departing current
